MSPB’s Ryan Beard Elected Treasurer of National Compensation Association of State Governments

Ryan Beard, MSPB’s director of classification, compensation and recruitment, will continue his service on the leadership team of the National Compensation Association of State Governments (NCASG) as treasurer. Beard previously served as the association’s president-elect in 2021 and president in 2022.

NCASG provides a forum for compensation professionals from member states to exchange information, professional expertise, and knowledge related to the compensation of state government employees.

At MSPB, Beard oversees recruitment, selection, classification and compensation for more than 24,000 state employees under the board’s purview.

Over the past 20 years, Beard has held various positions with the Mississippi State Personnel Board and served as assistant human resources director for the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services. He has also served as a board member, vice president and president of the Mississippi Association of Personnel Administrators, and as vice chair and chair of the State Agencies Self-Insured Workers’ Compensation Trust.
