Axio BioPharma Selected for Plug and Play Lifetech Accelerator’s Third Cohort

Program participation will support industry engagement around Axio’s data infrastructure and execution capabilities for biologics development and manufacturing

MADISON, WI, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Axio BioPharma, a Madison, Wisconsin company building software to help biopharmaceutical companies and their manufacturing partners work from the same information, today announced that it has been selected to join Batch 3 of the Plug and Play Lifetech Accelerator.

Axio is one of 12 startups selected for the cohort, which includes companies working across biotechnology, therapeutics, diagnostics and medical devices. The program gives participating companies access to industry mentors, workshops, tailored resources and connections across Plug and Play’s corporate and innovation network.

As part of the program, Axio will engage with biopharmaceutical companies, manufacturing partners and industry experts to explore opportunities for collaboration and commercialization around its two connected business lines, Axio Lattice and Axio Forge.

“Biologics development generates a huge amount of valuable information, but a lot of that value gets lost when work moves between different systems, sites and organizations,” said Justin Byers, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Axio BioPharma. “Plug and Play gives us a chance to work directly with companies dealing with these challenges every day. We’re looking forward to building those relationships, learning from industry partners and continuing to develop Lattice alongside the real-world work happening through Axio Forge.”

Axio Lattice connects and translates information across the systems used in biomanufacturing, helping biopharmaceutical companies and their manufacturing partners work from the same process information. Lattice works across systems such as laboratory information management systems, manufacturing execution systems, electronic laboratory notebooks, historians, enterprise resource planning platforms and quality management systems, without requiring companies to copy their data into a centralized repository.

Axio Forge is Axio’s high-throughput biologics laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin. The non-GMP laboratory produces research-grade monoclonal antibodies and gives Axio’s team direct experience with the operational and data challenges that can slow biologics development. That experience also helps inform the continued development of Lattice.

The Plug and Play Lifetech Accelerator connects emerging life sciences companies with industry leaders, mentors and resources intended to help move new technologies toward the market. The program is conducted in partnership with Indiana University, IU Health and BioCrossroads.

Axio’s participation will include programming and industry engagement throughout the fall, including Lifetech Focus Days in Indianapolis and the Lifetech Expo in December.
