US Embassy in Iraq Urges Citizens to Stay Vigilant Amid Regional Tensions
According to reports, the embassy advised US nationals already in Iraq to remain alert and closely monitor local news, warning that travel disruptions and sudden airspace closures could occur.
It said, “Due to regional developments, U.S. citizens in Iraq are advised to maintain heightened readiness and stay alert to local news sources,” adding that such disruptions may happen with little or no notice.
The embassy also referenced the US State Department’s Level 4 travel advisory for Iraq, the highest warning level issued, and reiterated its guidance: “Do not travel to Iraq for any reason. Leave now if you are there.”
